
Fernando Gont is a Staff Platform Security Engineer at Serve Robotics.
He previously worked as a Security Researcher and Consultant at SI6 Networks, a Staff Platform Security Engineer at Yalo, and the Director of Information Security at EdgeUno. He has also consulted for private and governmental organizations from around the world such as the UK National Infrastructure Security Co-ordination Centre (NISCC), the UK Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI), and Huawei Technologies Ltd, showcasing his leadership and technical expertise in the field of cybersecurity.
Gont has also been an active contributor to several working groups within the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and several research groups within the Internet Research Task Force (IRTF), where he has authored 38 IETF RFCs (Request for Comments) and 2 IRTF RFCs, driving critical advances in Internet security.
Gont has also made a number of contributions to the open-source community. He has developed the SI6 Network’s IPv6 Toolkit, a free, portable, and comprehensive security assessment toolkit for the IPv6 protocol suite. His contributions extend to core projects like the Linux Kernel, the systemd-networkd package, the OpenBSD operating system, and the FreeBSD operating system.
Gont has presented at numerous conferences and technical meetings on topics such as information security, operating systems, and Internet engineering. His appearances include CanSecWest 2005, FIRST Technical Colloquium 2005, Kernel Conference Australia 2009, DEEPSEC 2009, HACK.LU 2011, Hackito Ergo Sum 2012, Hack In Paris 2013, German IPv6 Kongress 2014, H2HC 2017, and Troopers 2018. Additionally, he is a regular attendee of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) meetings.
